What fits in the estate car

Up to 4 passengers travel with 2 large suitcases in the boot plus a piece of hand luggage each, which is roughly 4 medium suitcases in total. This covers most family holiday luggage and standard business trip bags.

This is a guide rather than a hard limit. If you know your exact luggage in advance, particularly for larger groups or bulky items, mention it when you book and we will confirm it will fit before you travel.

Why an estate car, not a saloon

Many airport transfer operators run a saloon car by default, upgrading to a larger vehicle only on request. An estate car has significantly more usable boot space than a saloon, which matters for airport trips specifically because most passengers are travelling with more luggage than an everyday journey.

Booking a saloon and turning up with holiday luggage for four people is one of the most common reasons a transfer does not go smoothly. Running an estate car as standard removes that risk.

One vehicle type, consistently

We do not offer a saloon, MPV or minibus. Every booking is the same estate car and the same passenger and luggage capacity, so there is no uncertainty about which vehicle will turn up or whether it has been correctly matched to your party size.

The trade-off is that we cannot carry groups larger than 4 passengers or luggage well beyond the guide above. If that applies to your journey, contact us before booking and we will let you know honestly whether we can help.

Oversized and awkward items

Golf bags, skis, snowboards and large pushchairs can often be accommodated, but they take up space that would otherwise hold a suitcase. Tell us about any oversized items when you book so we can confirm everything will fit alongside your other luggage.

Not sure it will fit?

Message or call us with your passenger count and luggage before you book. We would rather tell you honestly if the estate car is not right for your trip than have you find out at the pickup.

Frequently asked questions

How much luggage fits in the estate car?
Up to 4 passengers with 2 large suitcases plus hand luggage each, roughly 4 medium suitcases in total. This is a guide, not a hard rule; let us know your exact luggage when booking.
Why do you only use estate cars?
An estate car has significantly more boot space than a saloon, which is the vehicle type most other operators run by default. Using one vehicle type consistently also means you know exactly what to expect every time you book, rather than a fleet of different cars.
Do you offer a bigger vehicle for more passengers or luggage?
No. We run a single estate car for up to 4 passengers. We do not offer a saloon, MPV or minibus. If your party or luggage will not fit, tell us when booking and we will let you know.
Can I bring golf clubs, skis or a pushchair?
Often yes, but oversized items like golf bags, skis or large pushchairs reduce space for other luggage. Mention this when booking so we can confirm it will fit alongside your other bags.
Do you provide child car seats?
Yes, child seats are available on request at no extra charge. Let us know the child's age when booking.
